Skype is a software application that allows the user to make voice calls over the Internet protocol. Telephone and video calls between Skype users are completely free and you need to purchase credit for your landline and mobile phone. Skype is a Peer to Peer network created by Nicholas Zendström of Sweden and Janus Ferris of Denmark. The two had previously worked on a file sharing network called Kazaa. By the end of the year, Skype had over 5 million users.
